Summer is close to an end

I can't get over how few days of Summer we have left! (Anyone else getting bombarded with school-related e-mails already?) I'm looking forward to going back, but I can't help but think of a few things I am going to miss.

1. All that fresh summer produce at my fingertips!

2. Having my best friends right around the corner. It always seems like we're leaving someone or something behind no matter where we go, but I always love having these crazy cats to return to!

3. Having all my clothes in one place. My closet is not nearly this fabulous, but coming from a college-sized closet, mine at home always seems this big!

4. Laying on my porch swing and spending the day reading! Not to mention my killer view...

5. Summer reads! 5.5. Reading without feeling like I should be working on something for school.

6. Being lazy.

Obviously Summer has a lot going for it! What are you going to miss the most?

Wanted: the perfect floppy hat

It's almost time to return to school, and my friend still has not found her coveted sun hat anywhere! Know of any good links or places she could find one?
I never thought to check out Amazon!

Who knew Zappos sold hats?

I'm more of a cap kind of gal myself. I got one of these green caps in Spain, and my friend calls it my Fidel hat.

Ooh la la!

This glamorous bedroom makes me wish I had a studio apartment of my own! Imagine taking a nap in front of that window!

Oui oui!

A friend of mine just returned from a week spent between Paris and London. He filled us in on his Harry Potter walking tour, visiting the Louvre, and the teeny tiny hotel rooms among all the other musings Europe has to offer.

Here are a few things that have me vicariously traveling with him...

A fun little graphic novel about the author's month long trip to Paris. Bonus? It's selling for a penny on Amazon!

Who doesn't love a man with an accent?

A stuffed Eiffel Tower

A blue and red manicure reminds me of Paris's flag!

So cliche, but stripes always make me think of European fashion influence. Add a red beret with a striped T, and you're set!

Trenchcoats are so timeless! So chic getting caught in a London rainstorm.

...Did I mention I was traveling vicariously? I must admit that I have never been to either city. These are only my politically incorrect assumptions about life abroad and what have me drooling. Hope you found something you like!

Tunes Tuesday

Mmmbop, child, I think you gonna recognize this tunes Tuesday link.

This popular boys band released an album exactly one year ago this past June. The tune is, err... a bit much. (What's with all the Stevie Wonder references? And is the eldest channeling a Blues Brother?) I can't help but picture them smiling and clapping along with the Wiggles. "I've been thinking about something: fruit salad!"

p.s. Make sure you catch the triple high five at the end. Feel the brotherly love even a decade later!

Love note Post-its

I've known friends to Post-it each other's cars, but this gallery of over 350,000 notes in Brazil is like nothing I could have even imagined! And each note had a love note. Too cute!

This guy re-made the house from "Up" - including the mail box and paintings in the house too! p.s. Love the music from that movie! Pixar can do no wrong in my eyes.

Let your mind wander

What beautiful macaroons! The photo so perfectly describes each flavor above! Although, what's the light pink? Pistachio, maybe?

I hope you're not reading this hungry!

Looking for some Fall style ideas?

I'm positively in love with this Mat Kearney jam!

This designer Nathalie Lete is so talented! She produces everything from children's books and novels to stuffed toys and ceramic sculptures. What a cool job! Did I mention she works from Paris?

Warning! Gross foods ahead! Pictory's latest project involving crazy foods: "The stories shared here represent connections to other cultures, to our senses of adventure, and notably, to the origins of foods we eat."

My friend Lainey should have submitted chicken livers from her 8-week stay interning in Africa.

I could wholeheartedly weep at the sight of these photos shot in Mykonos, Greece!

I believe print is not dead! And I also believe in dropping a subtle. Birthday. Hint.

Justin Bieber  cupcake toppers. Genius!

Happy weekend, friends!
